never turn down a beer

it was my second attempt at leaving, the first one foiled by an accidental rendezvous with a semi-drunken friend just off hollywood blvd. the night had moved past eleven and i had to go, because staying would have been a lie to her. however, thanks to the encouragement of my drunken friend i walked back inside and we ordered another drink as he returned to his haunt next door. she and i talked as her friends made their way toward the bar and joined the conversation. when it came time to order another drink i said no, but she ordered it anyway. still i told her i had to go, as my fresh beer sat on the trendy bar, silence fell over us

in the end it was probably for the best, as i was attempting to avoid the situation that i knew was going to arise, that had to happen. what started at the bar with me turning down a beer, lead to the conversation that spread across 2 hours, 4 phone calls, 2 hang ups on her end and a quarter pack of smokes on mine and eventually a friendship/relationships downfall.

she was pissed and i don't blame her - i was a jerk but/and i was honest

monday she goes on tour - three tuesdays later i go on the road

and that is that

...the adventure continues...

My Conversation with the FBI

Our conversation went something like this:

Fed: “Hi this is Agent Jack Rube, I’d like to meet you for 20 to 30 minutes on Monday, I assume you know what this is in regards to?”

Me: “Yeah, I hope it’s in regards to the Dan Sieben’s background check, and not that other thing….”

Fed: ……

Me: “ Yes, I do.”

Fed: “Good, how is Monday for you?”

Me: “Actually, I’m working on a film right now and next week is our shooting week so my schedule is going to be pretty tight, could we push this back a week?”

Fed: “Actually no, there is a very short wick on this thing, it needs to happen next week.”

Me: “OK, well then Monday is fine. How about you meet me here on the Fox Lot, there is a little café where we could talk.”

I proceed to give him directions and we work out a time and such.

Fed: “OK, so how will I recognize you”

Me: “Well, I’m six-two with bright red hair, I tend to stand out. How about yourself?”

Fed: “I’m six foot, will be wearing a suit, dark sunglasses and carrying a briefcase and I tend to blend in.”

Me: “Alright then, well how about you just look for me.”

Fed: “Very good, I will see you then.”

Me: “great, looking forward to it….
