The 1st Trailer Season - 2003/2004 The year was 2003 and the first official Eddypolusa was in the books. I wasn't really sure what we had done but I knew it was good. However, I also knew that I wanted to keep this thing growing, keep it getting bigger. And so launched the first trailer season. Armed with a video camera and a film degree that wasn't getting much creative use, I set off to make trailers for the party, something to entice everyone back for another year. What you see below represents the first trailer season of Eddypolusa....
"Typewriter Teaser" The very first Eddypolusa Trailer ever put together. The music you hear is "Hero of the Day" by Metallica (a old school H-Town Favorite) and "Welcome to the Jungle" by none other than G-N-R. Although simple in it's design, it's still one of my favorites.
"Where Are You Going" The follow up trailer was put together from clips I shot solo on my beach over a weekend home in Hastings. It was March (I think) and damn cold. The original idea was just me sitting there around the fire by myself waiting for the party to start, the idea for the "Rouser" and the TV came later.
"Hooked It" This little trailer was actually never intended on being an "official" trailer. It was shot on just an ordinary day on Bourbon Beach over the summer using The Eel's "Mr. Eel's Faboulous Blues". If I remember correctly, the real idea was to make a Coors Light commerical, and then try and pitch the idea and launch my career in advertising and commericals. Shot and edited all in the matter of 5 hours right on Burbon Beach, it really sums up the laid back feeling that lives there.
"An Idea - Official Invite" Being the Hollywood romantic with a love for the dramatic that I am, I really wanted the last trailer to be something, well epic and what better song to use than "Where the Streets Have No Name." There was no video footage shot at the first EP and as such this trailer, like the rest above, were completely created from original shooting. Mixing the beach footage, with shots of both The ECC and Eddypolusa webpage this was the final product and became the first "official invite." Of course, an epic trailer had to have an epic ending, and so the final shot is in fact me, running completely naked down the beach, in March. The empty bottle of Jack was only a prop, sadly, and the temp was around 40 degrees.
